SEO SearchTerms Admin Plugin for WordPress

SEO SearchTerms Tagging 2 is a very popular WordPress plugin with more than 400k downloads from WordPress plugin directory. There are mixed reviews to use the plugin for SEO or not and if it is good to use it after Google Panda and Penguin updates. Anyway, the plugin can help to easily identify the keywords used by people who visit your posts via organic traffic, see the incoming search terms and help on the internal linking of your blog.

Even if you decide not to automatically display the search terms below your blog posts. This plugin can help you to keep track of keywords (and long tail keywords) for each post in the backend. You can use the backend options to get the posts without any traffic from Search Engines.

SearchTerms Admin

I have created a simple wrapper for SEO SearchTerms Tagging 2 plugin, which I named SEO SearchTerms Admin. This simple plugin will list the keywords recorded for a given post while you are editing the post content. This way, you can easily adapt your content to include the keywords.

Basically what it does is just get the data from STT2 meta table in the database and filter those values for the post you are editing. It will order the results by count (DESC) so you can see in a snapshot what are the top keywords saved for each post. I have added support for custom post types and pages.

In this initial version of the plugin I am only listing all the keywords for a given post under the WordPress post editor, so the author can see what are the keywords reached for the post and see any potential keyword that deserves to be included in the copy. However, in the future I plan to add more richer features for example to analyze potential keywords, group posts by keywords, etc.

Basically what I had in mind is to take advantage of the original plugin capabilities to record the keywords and use the backend in order to find potential keywords to add to the existing content. You can read more feedback about SEO Search Terms Tagging 2 in the following resources:

    • Sorry, I don’t understand the question. Would you like to hide the SearchTerms pane for page post type, or what? If you can clarify then I can try to give support. Thanks.
